I saw this great vid

I saw this great video at the YMRN lunch on Wednesday.  It was a nooma by Rob Bell on Silence.  He talks about Elijah experiencing God in 1 Kings 19:11 - 13 The LORD said, "Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."       Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
He made the point that we need silence to hear the whisper.  You should really find someone who has the video and watch it.  Powerful.
It hit me while I watching the video that so many of our youth ministries refer to fire, wind or earthquakes in our names.  My question is, is God really in our youth ministries or is there just so much noise that no one ever gets to hear God’s voice.  10 years as a youth pastor, I wonder how many times did I give young people the opportunity to really hear God and how much was the show, earth, wind and fire.
